The cost of a roof or exterior project depends on its size, its shape, the materials you choose and the condition of what is there now. A number given over the phone without seeing the roof would be a guess. That is why every project starts with a free estimate on site.

The roof itself
How big the roof is, how steep it is, and how many valleys, dormers and edges it has all change the amount of material and work involved.
What you choose
The shingle line, color and related components you pick, and the manufacturer warranty options that come with them.
What is there now
What is found under the current roof, and how the roof ties into the walls and any chimneys.
What passes through
Skylights, vents, chimneys and solar panels, and whether any of them are being added, replaced or reinstalled.
What else is included
Gutters, trim, siding or other work done at the same time as the roof.
